A massive nationwide manhunt is under way after a man from Wisconsin stole a variety of “high-end” firearms from a local gun store and wrote a lengthy anti-Trump manifesto in which he reportedly threatened public officials.
The FBI has issued a national alert and is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the capture of the suspect. More than 150 law enforcement officers were searching for 32-year-old Joseph Jakubowski, said Rock County Sheriff Robert Spoden.
The FBI is offering a $10,000 reward for capturing the suspect in a gun theft from Armageddon Gun Store on Tuesday. Joseph Jakubowski, 32, is wanted in connection with the theft, as well as sending a written manifesto to Trump, and threatening public officials and schools. Police advise that he has acquired a tactical vest and helmet.
Police were called to the Armageddon gun store at about 8:40 p.m. on Tuesday. When they arrived, they found the front door smashed in, and 16 “high end” firearms missing, one of which was described as an “automatic weapon.” Authorities did not disclose how much ammunition was taken in the burglary. Police found a burned out car registered to Jakubowski on a rural road not far from the gun store. They also learned that he had sent a 161 page manifesto to President Trump, that “expressed an interest” in harming public officials and attacking schools. Several schools and two colleges cancelled classes on Friday due to the situation. Because he may have left Wisconsin, the manhunt is now considered national.
The search has been underway for 7 days now, since last Tuesday, and authorities say they are still no closer to catching the suspect. Chris Swecker, a former head of the FBI criminal investigative division, told NBC News that Joseph Jakubowski seems like a “ticking bomb” and it is difficult to predict what his frame of mind is at this time or what actions he may take next.
The manifesto was sent to the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit, and they are currently pouring over the document to see if they can determine the mindset of the suspect, and find some leads. “When you look at the document that he wrote, it’s really a long laundry list of injustices he believes that the government and society and the upper class have put forth onto the rest of the citizens.” Rock County Sheriff Robert Spoden Joseph Jakubowski is described as a white man, 5’10” tall, with green eyes and brown hair.
Surveillance photos from an outside camera shows the suspect as he makes his way out of the gun store with a bag full of stolen merchandise, which includes tactical gear and at least one automatic weapon.
“The most dangerous people in this genre are the ones whose ideology is kind of all over the place,” Swecker said. A few schools in Wisconsin were put on a “soft lock-down” on Monday, taking extra precautions due to the unpredictable nature of the suspect and his implied intentions to possibly target schools.
Officials at the Southwestern Wisconsin School District in Hazel Green put their schools on a soft lock-down Monday after becoming aware of the potentially dangerous man. Superintendent John Costello said, “We’re taking extra precaution for people that enter into our building and making sure that they state their business and why they’re here.” They’re also ensuring all students stay inside throughout the school day. “We currently have students that walk back and forth from our high school to our middle school, so we just didn’t feel that that was a situation that would be beneficial for them to be out and about in the event that the gentleman is at large and in our community,” Costello explained.
It wouldn’t surprise me if this suspect, who is clearly mentally unstable, was influenced by the constant barrage of negative press against Donald Trump that the mainstream media releases on a daily basis. To those in our population who are easily influenced or particularly disturbed, listening to stations like CNN claim that Trump is the worst catastrophe to ever hit the American people could certainly trigger one of these individuals to perform acts of violence.
Let’s hope this person is caught quickly before he ends up in a school or over the White House fence, especially since intruders have recently made it surprisingly far before the Secret Service stopped them.
