FBI Director Christopher Wray held a press conference following the release of the long-anticipated Inspector General’s report, which outlined a series of embarrassing text messages sent by FBI agents and FBI attorneys indicating an alarming level of political bias against President Donald Trump.
Despite the Inspector General claiming that they found “no political bias” on the part of the FBI during their investigation, if one actually read the unedited text messages included in the body of the report, it shows a clear desire on the part of certain FBI employees to “resist” President Trump’s administration in any way possible (See: Top 5 Bombshells in IG Report Showing Massive Collusion Against Trump During 2016 Election).
The inspector general’s report focuses on instant messages that the attorney exchanged with a colleague about the Clinton and Russia probes.
“I am numb,” the attorney wrote on Nov. 9, 2016, the day after President Trump’s election.
“I am so stressed about what I could have done differently,” the lawyer continued, apparently referring to the FBI’s handling of the Clinton email probe.
The attorney’s messages show that he was distressed at the FBI’s decision in October 2016 to re-open the investigation into Clinton’s emails. Democrats have claimed that decision hurt Clinton at the polls.
The FBI lawyer also suggested that he would work to resist the Trump administration.
“Is it making you rethink your commitment to the Trump administration?” one FBI lawyer wrote on Nov. 22, 2016.
“Hell no. Viva le resistance,” the future Mueller attorney responded.
During interviews with the office of the inspector general, the lawyer claimed that his “personal political feelings or beliefs … in no way impacted” his work on the Clinton or Russia investigations.
The above FBI attorney expressing his willingness to “resist” President Trump later went on to work with Robert Mueller’s special counsel, but was removed from the investigation earlier this year.
The entire IG report tabulates and quantifies statements made by FBI employees where they specifically state their desire to hamper Trump’s administration. FBI agent Peter Strzok vowed that “we” will “stop” Trump from becoming President of the United States in a text message exchange with fellow FBI agent Lisa Page.
Ironically, both the FBI attorney who sent the message “Viva le resistance” in regards to Trump’s administration, along with FBI Agent Peter Strzok who sent numerous text message to Lisa Page claiming he has an “insurance policy” in place to stop Donald Trump, were both at one time working for Robert Mueller’s special counsel.
Despite the various pieces of evidence blatantly showing a political bias against Donald Trump’s administration, FBI Director Christopher Wray proudly stated during his press conference that the IG Report found “no political bias” on the part of the FBI.
Wray claims that the IG Report exonerates the FBI from charges of political bias, despite the various communications between agents and attorneys proudly touting their plans to “resist” President Trump.
“This report did not find any evidence of political bias or improper considerations actually impacting the investigation under review,” Wray stated. “Nothing in this report impugns the integrity of our workforce as a whole or the FBI as an institution.”
However, despite Wray proudly stating there was “no political bias” found within the FBI, he goes on in his same speech to announce the entire FBI will undergo “new political bias training” within 120 days, beginning with senior leadership.
“[T]he FBI is instituting new political bias training, drawing from, among other sources, the training, guidance, and practices of the federal judiciary. To commence within 120 days, training will begin with senior leadership and the Senior Executive Service (SES) ranks, with the objectives of discussing the OIG Report, lessons learned, and the need for scrupulous, unwavering adherence to the policies and procedures intended to combat potential political bias,” the FBI as part of its formal reply to the IG report.
The training will also talk about the importance of “maintaining a work environment free from political bias.”
FBI Director Christopher Wray has asked Paul Abbate, the associate deputy director, to establish “working group to provide recommendations, within 120 days, on the staffing, structuring, and supervising of sensitive investigations in order to ensure that the full suite of the FBI’s investigative strengths, a balance of operational experience, and proper resources are provided such that every future sensitive investigation is conducted to the highest standards of the [FBI].”
If there was no political bias on the part of the FBI indicating their willingness to interfere with the 2016 election or to impede Donald Trump’s presidency, and the FBI is operating with the upmost integrity, then why would there be a need to institute an entire training program dedicated to eliminating political bias?
Wray stated, “We will train every single FBI employee, both new hires and veterans alike, on what went wrong so these mistakes will never be repeated. That includes drilling home the importance of objectivity, of avoiding even the appearance of personal conflicts of political bias in our work.”
Now, if there was indeed no findings of political bias in the FBI according to the IG Report, then why would Wray claims that agents need to be trained on “what went wrong so these mistakes will never be repeated”?
Despite the fact that FBI employees should already be trained on not allowing their political feelings to interfere with their work, and especially not using their authority and position to attempt to sabotage a presidential candidate or administration, Wray admits that mistakes were made and there is a need a training to ensure these events to not occur in the future.
Is the objective of this new bias training taking place at the FBI really to try eliminate political bias from interfering with their jobs, or is it to teach agents to better avoid detection of their bias and reduce the risk of the FBI beings exposed again for trying to interfere with elections and presidential administration?
After all, almost every major business incorporates some sort of sexual harassment training into their new hire classes, yet there are still regular occurrences of sexual harassment, and lawsuits, taking place on a regular basis.
Will political bias training really have any chance of teaching an FBI employee how to not be biased against a political party, or will it simply teach them how to not use their work phones to express that bias?
These are all valid questions that the American people have the right to know, especially since their taxpayer dollars fund these same government agencies that appear to be using their authority to attempt to sabotage certain political candidates. In essence, the taxes that millions of Trump voters pay each and every year could be funding the salaries of the nation’s highest law enforcement officials who in turn use their position to “resist” the same political candidate that these taxpayers voted for.
Although the mainstream media is quick to avoid the actual facts and details of political bias against Trump in the IG Report, these facts only reinforce the belief in an organized “deep state” operation to undermine, hamper and ultimately remove Donald Trump from office by using our own government systems against him, such as the institution of a special counsel to investigate supposed “Russian collusion” taking place during the 2016 election despite not a single shred of evidence supporting that theory.
