Father of Parkland Shooting Survivor: CNN Wanted People Who Would ‘Espouse a Certain Narrative’ on Gun Control

Ariana Klein, a survivor of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting, appeared on the Ingraham Angle with her father, Andrew Klein, to speak about their experience in the aftermath of the worst school shooting since Sandy Hook.

Andrew Klein speaks about his frustration in hearing the news that 4 officers were outside of the school during the shooting, but failed to enter the building and possible saving lives.

“As a father, it’s just maddening to hear that news. You put your faith in law enforcement to act to protect your children, and then they fail, it’s just inexcusable. It highlights the other failures that contributed to this tragedy, the failures of the FBI and failure to act on the tips they had.”

Klein also mentions the Broward County Sheriff’s Deputy who was on duty at the school and also failed to act, deciding instead to wait at the west end of the school in relative safety while students fled for their life. In addition, the security footage of the school’s camera’s are on at least a 20 minute delay, meaning officers cannot see real time footage of the shooting.

“I think it’s disgusting that a police officer on campus, he knew his job, and for him not to enter the building where harmless, innocent children are being shot is disgusting. And I think in regards to the technology department and the fact that the security footage was 20 minutes today, that shouldn’t have happened. And that’s one of the simply issues that everyone can agree on that needs to be fixed. We need to be proactive and not reactive, and we can’t have these security footages looked at after the matter.”

Laura Ingraham then brings up the CNN town hall that took place on Wednesday night. She played a clip of Colton Haab, a survivor of the school shooting and junior ROTC member who had the presence of mind to use kelvar mats present in the ROTC room to shield his fellow students. Haab has been at the center of dispute with CNN, claiming the network refused to let him ask his own prepared question during the town hall and instead sent a scripted question to ask instead. Haab and his father refused to attend the town hall because of CNN’s refusal to allow Colton to ask his question as he prepared it.

After revealing that CNN scripted the gun control town hall, Haab went on the Tucker Carlson show to describe the exact steps that CNN took in refusing his question while at the same time providing him with one of their own. He even revealed the CNN producer who told him over the phone that “he needed to stick to the script.”

Ingraham then asks Ariana Klein what her reaction was to Haab’s revelation that CNN demanded his “stick to the script” during their gun control town hall.

“For that to happen in inexcusable,” Ariana Klein responded.

“Our voices need to be heard and he should have been able to ask any question he wanted to ask. Instead we have these networks who don’t want us to give our real opinions, they want us to further their agenda.”

Ariana’s father then revealed that he had spoken to a CNN producer the day after the shooting, and the producer implied that CNN was only looking for people who “were willing to espouse a certain narrative”, seeking to turn the tragedy into a policy debate on gun control.

“I actually spoke to a CNN producer on Thursday, the day after the shooting, and the producer insinuated to me that they were looking for people who were willing to espouse a certain narrative, which was taking the tragedy and turning it into a policy debate. And unfortunately, a lot of people talking about gun control don’t understand what they’re talking about.”

“I’m a responsible gun owner. When we talk about gun control, it’s not about taking them away from people like me. It’s about keeping them out of the hands of people who should not have them, or who are irresponsible or a threat to society.”

“We’re looking for people who want to talk about the policy implications of what happened,” is what Klein claims the CNN producer told him.

The entire interview with Ariana Klein and her father Andrea Klein can be viewed below:

In other words, CNN was looking for people who wanted to ban assault rifles or call for more gun control, all talking points of the Democratic Party that CNN is only too happy to echo.

Andrew Klein’s story regarding CNN’s push for gun control and efforts to manipulate students into supporting their agenda only further bolster’s Colton Haab’s claim that CNN insisted he use their scripted questions during a town hall on gun control.

It appears CNN wasn’t particularly interested in hearing from those who have real suggestions that could realistically save the lives of students, such as improving the security of schools with armed guards, but rather pushing the same policy of banning assault rifles despite the fact that will not keep these weapons from falling into the hands of criminals.

Simply passing a law or ban does not magically stop criminals from acquiring illegal goods. In fact, it often makes things work by creating a criminal supply of the very item that the government is trying to keep off the streets, as happened in the 1920s during prohibition when the government banned the sale of alcohol. Banning the sale of a substance that still had a sizable demand only gave more power to criminal organizations such as the mafia, who were all too happy to supply alcohol illegally to the population. This is why an assault rifle ban will only result in more guns in the hands of criminals, and less in the hands of law abiding citizens who could stop a shooter.

Recall that during the Texas church shooter was stopped by an NRA member with an AR-15, Stephen Willeford, who sprung to action, managed to shoot around the killer’s body armor and even pursued him in the vehicle of another bystander until the police arrived.

The demand for guns, including assault rifles, will not instantly stop if the government enacts a ban. In fact, there is no quicker way to sell every assault rifle in the gun stores than to start the process of banning, because hundreds of thousands of people will be eager to purchase them before they are made illegal, effectively putting tens of thousands of additional assault rifles on the streets.

However, try applying this form of logical, rational thought to leftist consumed by a singular desire to ban assault rifles and you will likely find yourself making little headway. Thankfully, intelligent and informed Americans such as Ariana Klein and her father are still willing to be the voices of reason in a time where media stations like CNN are giving voice to only the most enraged among us.

Gee, who would’ve thought CNN would only be interested in exploiting
a tragedy to not only bash Donald Trump as they always do, but help enact the
policy goals on gun control of the Democratic Party.

Don’t fool yourself into thinking these CNN producers
actually care about the students or saving lives, as if they did, they’d be
pushing for better protection of the school’s much more fiercely than an
assault rifle ban, which wouldn’t prevent the loss of life as psychopaths could
    just use handguns.

BUT, the producers at CNN know that calling for an all out
gun ban is too much for one battle, so they’re only focusing on assault rifles.
Once a school shooting occurs with handguns, they’ll be calling for more gun
bans until every gun store in America is shut down and only their allies in the
government have the means to defend themselves.
